The pair had a clear idea of what they wanted but needed a designer and landscapers’ expertise to help them elevate these ideas and create what they describe as an amazing, functional, social, and contemporary garden with improved privacy – something often lacking with a new build plot.
Getting their dream garden
Aaron and Rachael were keen for a high-quality finish and were happy to invest in high quality materials to achieve this. They also opted for premium finishing touches, including a furniture set by Maze, which is made with all-weather fabric, and a Heston Blumenthal barbecue.
One of the real show pieces is the Roche Awning (£11,000). Aaron and Rachael were keen to have a shaded area, but didn’t want to impose on the patio space with something large like a pergola frame, for example. They opted for a Markilux awning from which was built to their exact specification including trims, fabric colours and integrated lighting. They added the essential vertical drop blind to shade the south-west sun, and give the patio an outside room feeling, dropping the blind to the floor for added enclosure and privacy.
Artificial grass was chosen to achieve a perfect finish, with the couple loving a striped lawn.
